ENIL Press Release: International Day of Disabled People
Friday, 05 December 2008 December the 3rd was the International day of disabled people. ENILwelcomed this day and the acknowledgment of disabled people, but does not
welcome the 'blah blah' from the politicians. We want direct action from
them on the human right abuses suffered daily by disabled people
everywhere.
We demand more effective actions and less 'blah blah' and we need all
disabled people to use their voice and actions to make change happen too.
We must not forget the 3 million disabled men, women and children who are
institutionalized by their governments (and its blah blah politicians) in
Europe, or the fact that many disabled people cannot get personal
assistance, use transport, live in a place they chose or have enough
money to avoid poverty.
We believe that everyday should be a day that disabled people and their
human rights are recognized, not just one.
Competition: What Is Inclusion?
Wednesday, 26 November 2008A group of (former) pedagogy students from Berlin and the association “Parents for Integration Berlin (EfI)”, aim to collect worldwide definitions of "Inclusion" and "inclusive education". They are looking for definitions used in scientific discussion and definitions people formulate for themselves. They also want to discover how clearly the idea and term of "Inclusion" is delineated compared to concepts and terms like "Integration" or "Mainstreaming".
