Introduction
Disability NOW is a user-led supportive (non-profit) organisation in Greece. It aims to empower Greek disabled people with the proper technical knowledge and skills to manage their needs and reconstruct their lives, and on a wider level, to create the conditions for an inclusive, barrier-free society.
Through its own portal, www.disabled.gr, Disability NOW has established an informational gateway: it gathers, enters, classifies, publishes and distributes all information that benefits and concerns people with disabilities. The portal contains the largest digital library for disability, the Disability News portal, the Disability Business portal, and the largest digital community of disabled people in Greece. DN also publishes a bi-monthly Printed Magazine, and organizes the annual exhibition Autonomia EXPO every May.
Disability Now has also been involved in numerous and wide ranging European projects mainly addressing issues of accessibility, employability, education and lifelong learning, e-inclusion, violence and discrimination.
