Introduction
The CIL Bad Kreuznach (Zentrum für Selbstbestimmtes Leben behinderter Menschen e.V.) located in the West of Germany in Rhineland-Palatinate is a registered association operating on a regional level, but also offering a German-wide platform to people with disabilities, especially those who rely on Personal Assistance. We offer counselling, exchange of experiences and information not only to disabled persons but also to family members, assistants and official representatives.
Our fundamental concerns are:
- to strengthen people with disabilities
- to improve the quality of life of disabled people and to assure long-term funding
- to represent common interests and to support joint activities all over our region, all over Germany and Europe-wide
- to contribute our experience to discussions and decision-making processes
- to actively raise the awareness of the economic relevance of the 'employer model' at regional and national level
To implement our aims we strongly feel the necessity to be part of networks at a higher level like ENIL is one. We hope that ENIL can be a platform for us to attract interest and to make our concerns heard Europe-wide.
